Prokaryote: Internal Structure
Nucleoid region: usually central part of cell that hosts circular DNA
Plasmids: small, circular DNA throughout the cell
Ribosomes: smaller than in eukaryotes (antibiotics, e.g. tetracycline, chloramphenicol, bind to prokaryotic but not to eukaryotic ribosomes)
Internal membranes: cyanobacteria; contain chlorophyll for photosynthesis calledthyllakoids
