Ground Tissue
Parenchym: most common cell type in plants; thin cell wall, large vacuoles, remain alive; do not contain chloro-phyll in large stems (trees) but do contain chlorophyll in outer parts of stems and in leaves (chlorenchyma cells)
Mesophyll: chlorenchyma tissue between upper and lower epidermis in leaves; in eudicots palisade mesophyll and spongy mesophyll; in monocots only one mesophyll type
